1st Days of School 2009

Giddyup!!

Caleb was a cowboy today. I have been trying to figure out how his mind works. So, here goes. The socks...cowboy boots. The baseball cap...trusty cowboy hat. Long-sleeved pajama under shirt...protection from the wild, wild west. I'm not including his compass attached to the belt buckle because that is standard uniform for Mr. Caleb. I sure do love this boy with an imagination wild and a flair for the drama, like his Daddy.

It's a messy job...

It's a messy job, but someone's got to do it! My kiddos are generally very helpful, but this one beats all. I don't even do it.

I was on the phone with Hannah when I looked out the window and this is what I saw... Malia picking up the dog's business with gusto. Apparently, the pink winter boots were a must (it is 79 degrees outside).

Zoe Celebration

Saturday evening we threw a "glitzy" baby shower for RaRa. It was beautiful. We had a wonderful time eating food, playing games, opening gifts and just being together. There was family from out of town with us, which made it extra special and much more of an event. Thank you everyone for all of the help and love that went into this shower to make it so special for Rachel and for all of us.

We can't wait to meet baby Zoe!!

Blogs are great. When you update them. And when your four readers don't get updates, they stop reading. So...I am still here, we are still here. Boy, are we still here. I think we might just be getting back into some sort of order around here. Maybe...well, ask me next week and the answer will be different. I feel like everyday is a scramble. I've decided that I get enough exercise in our daily scramble and I don't need to go to the gym. What do you think? Speaking of going to the gym...I love the beginning of the year because it is a great time to look back over the past year, look ahead to the upcoming year and decide what to do differently or maybe the same. It can be big things or little things. I want to share a little thing. This idea comes from Del ( the best Mom in the world). I love the idea...a book journal. A place to record what I read and what I am getting out of a book. I love to read and love books, but so many times I forget what I read. So, I am going to write down each book I read and anything I want to remember from the book. What do you think? Not rocket science, I know, but I need helpful tips like this...Thank you, Mom!

Today we ventured out to do some shopping. (That is such a big deal that it really should be the end of this post.) In our adventure we bumped into our friend Jen. I was enjoying some grown-up conversation when I realized Caleb was not standing next to me. I called for him and heard a precious little giggle. I looked down and this is what I saw...

Joshua is Home!!!

Can you believe how squeezable this little guy is?
Joshua Justen Ferguson is lighting up our home. When the kids wake up in the morning or from naps the first thing they say is "Where's Joshua?". It is like Christmas morning every day and Joshua is our present that we get to unwrap.



Here is our family about to take Joshua home from the hospital. We were ready to be home.


I will post more pictures of the past two weeks later. It is amazing to see how far Joshua has come and I want you all to see it too! But for now, thank you for your prayers and your love. We have felt lots of both. We are rejoicing with you that baby Joshua is HOME!!!

Yep, we are still awaiting the arrival of our baby!
We went walking...

But, he is soooooo cozy and is trying to teach us all a lesson in patience and God's timing!



You may recognize "jack" in the photo, but the other addition is Trifina, named by Aunt Ray.
Malia loves that her name is Trifina (her twin's name is Trifosa). Daddy tries to call her Fi Fi and Malia quickly corrects him. "No, Daddy, her name is Trifina!".

We started school a few weeks back knowing that we would need to take some time off when the baby arrives. And, by the way, don't you love that we can go to school in our bare feet?

Less than three weeks and we are counting down. The kids are probably more excited than I am...to have their Mommy back.

1st Day of Kindergarten

Here is Mr. Caleb on his first day of official kindergarten! Boy, is he excited. We started out learning about the Olympics. He picked the country of Brazil to track the medals. He looks for the bright green flag in all of the events. Go Brazil!

Jack has Cabin Fever

We went to "the cabin" this weekend and Jack came with us! We had a blast...

I just stumbled on this site that I thought some of you might enjoy. It seems to be for anyone that likes the kitchen! Some of us are naturally more gifted in the area of throwing things together (Hannah) and producing something scrumptious (an Aunt Joy term). I am definitely not included in this group! But this site seemed to have some help for me and some classroom/teaching ideas for me and my kiddos! So, to all of us that need a little help in the kitchen...

learning to sew

Rachel wanted to learn to sew. So...I let her pick a pattern and fabric! She had a blast at the store and when we got home I introduced her to all of the basics. We are in the process of making matching dresses for her and Malia. But before we embarked on that we thought it would be fun to make these cute "goodie bags" for Caleb's sprinkler birthday party! Here she is and here is the finished product. She did a great job, didn't she? Go Rachel!!!
